You must sort your own travel insurance for Pila.

Note

SOWM no longer arranges a group insurance policy for the Pila trip. The majority of families travelling with us opted to take out their own policy separately, so the decision was made that the group would no longer facilitate sorting a group policy.

We highly recommend taking out an insurance policy as soon as you have paid your deposit. If you don’t, you may end up out of pocket if you are unable to travel as deposits are non-refundable.

For any unaccompanied athletes joining us we must have a copy of their insurance documents ahead of departure day.

You must take out a policy that includes ‘winter sports’. A normal insurance policy will not pay out for injuries that take place when skiing if you haven’t added the ‘winter sports’ add-on/package.

Warning

Remember that you must declare all medical conditions when taking out insurance, otherwise your policy may be cancelled by the insurer if you attempt to make a claim. If you have pre-existing conditions you can use comparison websites, like MoneySuperMarket, to find an insurer that accepts pre-existing conditions. MoneySavingExpert has information on travel insurance with pre-existing medical conditions.

In the wake of the COVID pandemic many insurers updated their policies to exclude claims for disruptions that arise as a result of COVID.
